Will of George Lambert of Little Crakehall, 17 May 1698

In the name of God amen, the seventeenth day of May, 1698 according to the computation of the Church of England, I ,George Lambert of Little Crakehall of the county of York being in perfect memory and remembrance praised be God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God my maker hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour and redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins, And as for my body to be buried in christian burial at the discretion of my friends.
Item I give unto my son Stephen and to my two daughters Elizabeth and Frances
all my personal estate ( my debts and funeral expenses first being discharged ) as hereafter is expressed, that is to say for every twenty pounds or twenty shillings that my son Stephen hath, I give unto my two daughters fifteen pounds apiece and the said sum or sums of money to be paid when my daughter Frances shall come to the age of twenty years and in case she die before she come to that age to be paid when my daughter Elizabeth shall come to the age one and twenty years and in case that any of my children shall die before the money shall become due or payable that them surviving shall have that childs part
or portion equally divided betwixt them surviving when it shall become due
and payable, and I do apoint my father in law Robert Langdale and my brother Thomas Lambert and Thomas Mayson as trustees for my three children in witness
hereunto I have put my hand and seal the day and year above written.

A true and perfect Inventory of all the goods and chattells moveable and unmoveable of George Lambert of Little Crakehall in the parish of Beedall in the County of York late deceased appraised by us whose names are under written the third day of Jun'e Anno dm 1698
