Will of John Johnson of Little Crakehall, 7 March 1660

In the name of God Amen the seventh day of March in the year of our lord God 1660
I, John Johnson of Little Crakehall in the county of York yeoman being sick in body but of good and perfect memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following :
First I commit my soul in the hands of almighty God hoping by the death and suffering of my redeemer and saviour Jesus Christ to have remission and foregiveness of all my sins and my body to be buried where it shall please my wife and friends ;

Item whereas I am indebted to several persons and being seized and possessed of diverse lands tenements and hereditaments in Great Crakall and Little Crakall and also in Newton in the Willows otherwise called Newton Morecarr all in the county of York aforesaid, I do give and bequeath all my lands tenements and hereditaments in Great Crakehall, Little Crakehall and Newton aforesaid, together with all the houses, buildings, barns, stables, orchards, gardens, garths and all other the rights, appurtenances and priveleges whatsoever to the said lands etc. unto Christobell my wife, John Lucas of Little Crakehall and Christopher Pybus of Tunstall, to sell and convey all and every or any part of my lands etc. for the payment and discharging of all my debts and for the raising of portions for my children as the said Christobell, John and Christopher shall think fit.

Inventory, 20 March 1660

An Inventory taken the 20th day of March in the 15th yeare of the raigne of our Gracious sovraigne Lord Charles the second king of England Scotland France and Ireland, at Little Crakell of the goods and chattells of John Johnson late of Little Crakell aforesaid, deceased Anno dmi 1660 as followeth :

In the hall house one longe table and three joynt
formes or seats, one livery coubard and
a little box cubbord, three chaires and one long setle

fower pewter salts, one pewter chamber pot,

More in the hall house 3 brasse candlesticks, 4 brasse
ladles, one brasse skumer, one latten plate,
gibbelt, 2 choppinge knifes, one fire shovell, one pare
of tonges, one fowlinge peice or gunn,one reckon

In the high parlour one stand bed, one livery cubboard,
one pannell cheste, one deske, two coffers,
one glascase, one loockeinge glasse, one glasse bottle,
two joynt stooles, 2 other cowed stooles, one voyder
and a hand basket
