Will of Thomas Jackson of Great Crakehall, 1 December 1675

In the name of god amen I Thomas Jackson of Great Cracall in the County of York gent, the first day of December, the seventeenth year of the reign of our sovereign lord Charles the second by the grace of god king of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following :
First I give and bequeath my soul to Almighty God and in and through the merits and mediation of his son, my saviour Jesus Christ to have remission and forgiveness of all my sins.
And after my debts and funeral expenses paid I give and bequeath unto my niece Mary, the daughter of Jane Davalett my sister, six pence for a legacy;
And all my personal estate to be equally divided betwixt my son Thomas and Frances my daughter, save only what shall redound to Ellen my wife in lewe of her third what shall fall due to her by course of law forth of my estate personal; And do hereby make Ellen my said wife sole executrix of this my last will and testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand, hart and soul the day and year first above written 1665

Inventory, 27 January 1676

A true and pfect inventory of the goods and chattells of Thom. Jackson of Great Crakall in the County of Yorke, Gentleman, decd, taken at Crakall afore the twentyeseaventh day of January in the seaventeenth year of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of god Kinge of England France and Scotland defender of the faith And prized by John Lucas, John Jackson, Christopher Pickering, Robert Clapham as followeth :


First his purse and apparrell £5-0-0
In the kitchinge one little square table, three brasse
kettles, three little brasse panes, two iron potts,
a warminge pan, a fryinge pan, two little stooles, [...?...],
fower sheeles, two dozen of milkin booles, three drayes,
one spitt, one dripinge pan, two pare of tongs, a fire shovell,
one reckon, eighteen peeces of pewther & foure other small
implements there to the value of

In the parlor one table, a buffit forme and six joint stooles £0-6-8
In the chamber over the kitchinge three runletts, a kinlinge,
two tubbs and a butter firkin, a temce,
one cloggbedstead, and other little implements

In the lodgeinge chamber one trunke with three pair of
linninge sheets, two pair of course sheets,
six pillowbers, one table cloath of hugaback, three course
table cloaths, two dozen of table napkins, in that trunke

One haretrunke, two cabinets, one deske, one other great
truncke, a white box, one chaffe bed, one rugge,
one blankett, one bolster, two window curtines

In the high chamber wheate three quarters six bushells,
six corne sacks, two horse padds, a sadle,

Five steeres, and three heffers, cowes three yeares £14-0-0
