Will of Henry Collinson of Great Crakehall, yeoman, 28 August, 1657. Proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, 10th February, 1658

Whereas I am possessed of a messuage or dwelling howse in Great Crackall aforesaid, and certaine lands and grounds thereunto belonging, and also of and in one messuage or dwelling house situate in Thirne in the parish of Watlous in the aforesaide County of Yorke, and several other parcells of grounde thereunto belonginge, and to that end being monded to setle unitie and continuall peace and freindshipp amongst my wiefe and children, therefore :
I give unto Robert my eldest sonne all my said messuage or dwelling howse in Crackall and all other the landsand grounds thereunto belonging, to him his heires and assignes for ever, uppon theis condicons following, that is t say that my said sonne Robert shall pay forth of the said messuage or tenement in Crackall the some of thirty pound of lawful English money, which some of thirty pounds t be paid unto two of my daughters, that is to say the some of twenty pounds unto my daughter Margarett as her childs part and porcon, and another some of tenn pounds unto Dorothy, another of my daughters, as her childs part and porcon together with what she hath formerly had to complete her full childs part. And the said several somes not to be paid untill fower yeares after my decease.
And I give and bequeath unto Mary my now wiefe my said messuage or dwelling howse in Thirne aforesaid and all other my lands in Litle Crakall in the Countie of Yorke unto my said wiefe and her heires for ever; which said lands I give unto my said wiefe for the raysing of porcons for my other younger children to be raysed at my wiefes discretion, save only that my said wiefe or assignes shall pay unto Edward, another of my sonns, the some of forty pounds in full satisfaction of his childs part, which said some of fortie pounds not t be paid untill fower years after my decease. And in case my said wiefe shall fail in payment of the said some of fortie pounds twentie (.....) longer or after the said expiration of fower yeares then it is my will that my said sonne Edward shall have and enjoy to him and his heires the moytie or one halfe of the said messuage or dwelling howse and all other the premisses thereunto belonging.
And my will is further that in case my said sonne Edward, Dorothy and Margarett doe dye before the tyme appointed for the payment thereof, or theire other disposall of the some that is his or her part soe departing shall be equally devided amongst the rest of my said children Edward, Dorothy, Margarett, and so to the last survivor.
As for the other of my younger children, being that I had with this my wiefe, I allott them their porcons to be raysed at my wiefes discretion forth of those lands given to her as aforesaid.
Also I give unto Dorothy and Margarett my said daughter either of them one stand bed and either of them a feather bed and all such other howsehold goods as I had with Christobell my former wiefe and their mother.
And lastly Imake and appoint Mary, my said wiefe, sole executrix of this my last will and testament.
